The State of Alaska requires all non-resident travelers to arrive with proof of a qualifying negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure OR to purchase a COVID-19 test for $250 upon arrival in Alaska and self-quarantine at your expense until results arrive. Alaska residents traveling into Juneau also have travel restrictions.

The Alaska Marine Highway System connects Juneau to the rest of Southeast Alaska as well as providing transportation to and from Bellingham, Washington.
The Alaska Marine Highway operates an extensive 3,500 mile route with a fleet of vessels that are designed to carry passengers and vehicles ranging in size from motorcycles to large freight containers.

Ferries operate year-round to provide essential transportation to over 35 coastal communities, many that are not accessible by road. Mainline vessels are the largest ships and typically take more than one day to travel between start and end ports, that provide road access.
